Mercurius Society Inaugural Meeting in Zagreb

The inaugural meeting of the Mercurius Society in Zagreb was organized by Dr. Oliver Knipping. Peter Kaznacheev, one of Mercurius Society’s original founders, gave a short introduction on the Society before delivering a brief statement on the topic: "The Invisible Hand of Putin, Gas Supply-Demand in Europe, the Free Market, and the Role of Russia".

Currently, Peter is Commercial Advisor for BP Russia and Central Asia Business Development. From 2003-06, he was a Senior Advisor and Assistant Group of Eight (G8) Sherpa in the Administration of the Russian President. He worked with Andrei Illarionov, former Chief Economic Aid to the Russian President and personal representative of the Russian President to the G8. He received a BA and PhD in Political Philosophy from Moscow State University, and a Master’s degree in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
